Despite Chelsea’s stellar run of play this season, transfer rumors are still flying high around Stamford Bridge.

With multiple rumors penning players moving in and out of London, Jose Mourinho has made it clear of his intentions.

Stick with the players he has.

Mourinho has said the club has no plans to buy during the January transfer window, saying “We cannot be better than first in the League, top of our Champions League group and in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.”

When asked about the possible return of striker Fernando Torres, the Chelsea boss quickly dismissed the speculation.

No. He’s on loan for two seasons at Milan. He’s our player but he’s on loan. We have no space.

We have no space for players in our list, either in the Champions League or the Premier League. That’s an impossible picture. Nobody from Milan has made contact with us about that possibility, so probably nothing is true. He’s happy at Milan and Milan are happy to have him.”

Torres left Chelsea after scoring only 20 Premier League goals in 110 appearances, extremely disappointing for a player that tallied 65 times for Liverpool in eight fewer appearances. So far his two-year loan at Milan has been equally unsuccessful, netting one goal in ten appearances.

Mourinho also denied that Petr Cech or Mohamed Salah would leave the club in January, saying both players are in the club’s plans and neither have asked for a transfer.

Chelsea have a busy schedule coming up, with seven matches in 22 days across three competitions (Premier League, Capital One Cup, FA Cup). With little rest, Mourinho will need his bench players to provide valuable minutes as the club focuses on Premier League and Champions League glory.
