Frank Lampard’s 40th minute goal was the only way Manchester City could beat Leicester City keeper Ben Hamer, but that was enough for a 1-0 win at King Power Stadium on Saturday.
The three points allow City to stay three points back of victorious Chelsea, while the Foxes remain dead last with 10 points.

Leicester was more than game, winning six more corners (8-2) and coming close in shot attempts.
Hamer and his magic beard made it tough for Manchester City despite their status as residents in Leicester City territory. A 32nd minute save on Yaya Toure from just inside the box is a fine example, but there are plenty more.

Yet the one that will be replayed over and over was Samir Nasri’s cross six assist to Lampard about six minutes before halftime. There was nothing Hamer could do there.
Frustration boiled over for a petulant Nasri in the 70th minute, as the Frenchman stepped in front of quickly-taken Foxes free kick to earn a yellow card.
Try as they might, Leicester couldn’t find the equalizer despite some nervy moments for the Citizens.
