Saturday’s Transfer Rumor Roundup: Torres to Liverpool, Reus to Real Madrid

According to reports from multiple outlets, Fernando Torres could make a shock move back to Liverpool. The Spanish striker, 30, is currently on loan from Chelsea to AC Milan but has scored just once in 10 appearances for the Italian giants. Milan are eager to cut their losses on Torres and Jose Mourinho doesn’t want him back at Chelsea, so where could Torres end up?

His old side Liverpool, where he scored 81 goals in 142 games before being sold to Chelsea for $75 million in 2011, could certainly use a new striker to help salvage their season. Would Torres be welcome back at Anfield?

German star Marco Reus is set to leave Borussia Dortmund for Real Madrid, according to the Daily Star. The 25-year-old attacker has been a target for Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool but is set to follow his German teammates Toni Kroos and Sami Khedira to the Santiago Bernabeu. It is believed that Reus has a release clause in his contract that can be triggered from January onwards and the switch to Real is extremely close to being finalized.

Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is eager to sign Matija Nastastic on loan from his old club. Mancini, now in charge at Inter, is a big fan of the young Serbian defender and given his lack of game time under Manuel Pellegrini, the Citizens may be willing to part with the young defender.

According to reports from Spanish publication AS, Arsenal’s German striker Lukas Podolski could be on his way to Atletico Madrid. The attacker scored twice for the Gunners in their 4-1 win at Galatasaray in the week but has only made 12 appearances this season and the majority of those have been from the bench.

Celtic midfielder Kris Commons has rejected a new deal with the Scottish club and Premier League sides Leicester City and West Brom are eager to snap up the playmaker. According to the Sun Commons, 31, could make the switch to England’s top-flight in January.
