In the 24th minute the home side were awarded a PK after some shoving in the box and Austin pulled a goal back from the penalty spot to make it 2-1. However West Brom kept pouring forward as Rob Green made some superb saves before the break as he tipped over Craig Gardner’s free kick.

Right after the interval QPR made it 2-2 as Richard Dunne’s header from a corner hit the bar and Austin swept up in front of the goal to grab his and the R’s second of the game. Soon after they should have had another penalty as Joey Barton surged through and was taken out but referee Craig Pawson waved played on.

QPR were throwing everything at West Brom as Austin went close, but the Englishman was not to be denied his 11th goal of the season as he bagged his hat trick in the 86th minute to seal a dramatic 3-2 win for QPR. Late on West Brom hit the woodwork but a valuable three points went to QPR.
