Manchester United are doing just fine without record Premier League signing Angel Di Maria, but the $99 million man will be out for a little while longer.

Di Maria, 26, was expected to feature for United on Boxing Day for their 3-1 win over Newcastle United but Louis van Gaal revealed that Di Maria “injured himself at the last training session” before the clash at Old Trafford.
The Argentine winger, who arrived from Real Madrid in the summer, returned to action on Dec. 20 against Aston Villa after being out of action for three weeks with a hamstring tear.
However after playing just 29 minutes in December following his initial injury against Hull City in November, Di Maria’s new injury is not expected to keep him out for too long according to an interview with van Gaal for MUTV.
“He stepped out of training in the warm up. It’s not his hamstring or a muscle injury,” van Gaal said. “It’s not a heavy injury. It’s the pelvis and the way it is connecting to his leg. We will see what the doctors say.”
Strangely, United have won every single game Di Maria has not played in since he arrived in Manchester. The Red Devils have won seven of their last eight in the Premier League and LVG will be in no hurry to rush his star man back and risk further problems considering United’s long list of injuries so far this season.
Is there such a thing as a $99 million bad luck charm…? Of course not. Right?
