Still winless in 10 matches, Hull City hits the road to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland, live at 10am ET on NBC Sports Extra Time, or live online at NBC Sports Live Extra.
Sunderland, meanwhile, is on the heels of its first win since November 3, a 1-0 squeaker over struggling Newcastle, and with both teams near the bottom of the table, it could be a massive point haul for either side come May. Hull is two points deep in the drop zone on 19th place, while the Black Cats sit just four points clear after their tough run through the last two months.
Billy Jones has taken the place of Sunderland defender Anthony Reveillere after the latter strained his calf in the warmups to their win over Newcastle, while John O’Shea and Sebastian Coates both remain in defense during runs of form for both men. Striker Connor Wickham is out with a suspension for too many yellow cards.
Meanwhile, Hull City’s injury list is an extensive one, contributing to their slip down the table, but it’s exacerbated today by suspensions. Jake Livermore and Tom Huddlestone both will miss out due to yellow card accumulation, leaving Steve Bruce’s midfield thin. Defender Michael Dawson has been out since last week with a torn hamstring, and both Mohamed Diame and Robert Snodgrass are misses with shorter term injuries.
