Neymar is one of the world’s most promising youngsters, no doubt.

And he’s been given the opportunity to play alongside some of the best footballers in the world at FC Barcelona after clearly showing off his skills at Brazilian side Santos–a bundle of highlight reel goals and technical quality often noticed during his time in South America.

The 22-year-old certainly came with big expectations following a €57.1 million ($69.67 million) transfer to the La Liga giant in 2013. Last season, his fifteen goals scored in 41 total competitions definitely displayed the young man’s promise, although he did not take the league by storm like the price tag would suggest.

Nonetheless, Barca was ultimately investing in the future, hoping that Neymar could turn out to be on the level of Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi years down the line.

Right now, his relocation to Barcelona is looking wonderful with respect to the winger/forward’s development, as Neymar has enjoyed an excellent first half of the 2014-15 year.

He’s scored fourteen goals in just 18 contests, only behind Messi on their squad’s stat chart.

If Neymar can retain this form, becoming a major influence in Barcelona’s success, it’s safe to say that he can ascend to the very top in a matter of months.

Midfielder Andres Iniesta, a major figure in the club for 12 years, believes life at Camp Nou will ultimately facilitate the rise of Neymar to super stardom.

“I have no doubt about Neymar’s talent,” he told reporters on Friday, via Goal.com.

“Barcelona is the ideal place for him to continue developing, and hopefully he’ll keep on doing that because it would be good for the team.”
