With a week to go before the moves start becoming official, the transfer rumor mill is churning out some serious product.

All the big English names are being linked with players on Monday, and Fernando Torres has already made his move from Milan to Atletico Madrid quite official.

Arsenal is looking to get younger at defensive mid, with William Carvalho of Sporting CP the option. The 22-year-old played the second half of Portugal’s 2-2 draw with the US at the World Cup and all 90 minutes of its 2-1 win over Ghana. The price is said to be $31 million, according to the Independent.

Staying with Arsenal, the Telegraph says Lukas Podolski is nearing a loan move to Inter Milan for the rest of the season, while Italian reports say Liverpool defender Glen Johnson is close to joining Ashley Cole as an AS Roma defender. The move won’t happen until the summer, but the agreement is said to be close.

The Daily Star has Seamus Coleman as the latest in a long list of Everton players to have been linked with Manchester United. The 26-year-old Irish international could net the Toffees $40 million, and would be an upgrade to United’s flanks. Could an Everton loan move for Adnan Januzaj be part of a deal? United boss Louis van Gaal is also said to be interested in bringing Nemanja Vidic back from Italy.

QPR continue to be linked with seemingly every available forward under the sun, as Mauro Zarate could leave West Ham on loan and Harry Redknapp’s bunch is considered in the mix according to The Telegraph. The outlet also says Peter Crouch from Stoke could be an option, but that QPR boss Tony Fernandes would expect players to be sold before he spends cash.

The agent for Wolfsburg offensive threat Kevin De Bruyne says the player is quite happy at Wolfsburg despite the young Belgian being linked to Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

Anderlecht forward Aleksandar Mitrovic has cooled off talk that he could be joining Newcastle’s strike force. Meanwhile Roma is said to be prepared to make Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa’s loan move from the Magpies a full-time deal.
