West Ham United 1-1 West Bromwich Albion: Pulis watches Baggies secure road point

New West Brom boss Tony Pulis watched his Baggies battle back for a point at the Boleyn Ground on Friday.

Diafra Sakho’s header gave West Ham an early lead, but Saido Berahino netted before halftime to secure a 1-1 draw for the visitors.

West Ham failed to take advantage of Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Southampton, and remains in sixth.

West Brom’s point keeps them one above the drop zone.

Roman Amalfitano no-looked a pass to Aaron Cresswell on the left, whose cross was met by Sakho’s diving header to give the home side a 1-0 lead after less than a dozen minutes.

West Ham controlled the half, but wouldn’t walk into the locker room with the lead.

Stephane Sessegnon brought the Baggies back by finding Berahino, whose low shot got the best of Adrian.
