Arsenal have bid rejected for Polish midfielder Krystian Bielik

According to Polish club Legia Warsaw, they have turned down a bid of $3 million from Arsenal for their prized possession.

Krystian Bielik, 17, is the man in question, as Arsene Wenger is trying to pluck one of Polish soccer’s great hopes away from his homeland.

The defensive midfielder can also play at center back, so Wenger is eager to address his dire needs in that area by signing the youngster who could potentially solve plenty of problems for the Gunners in the coming years.

So, with big money moves for Moussa Sissoko and Morgan Schneiderlin floating throughout the rumor mill, did anybody expect Arsenal’s main focus to be on a Polish teenager who has made just five senior appearances? Probably not. But as we’ve seen in the past Wenger likes to bring in players young and develop them so after having Bielik at their training ground over Christmas, he has seen enough to make an offer for the youngster. With Gedion Zelalem progressing nicely (USMNT fans, chill out) maybe he and Bielik are the midfield of the future for Arsenal, along with Calum Chambers who is just 19 years old.

Not the must enthralling news for Arsenal’s fans who are eager to see defensive reinforcements arrive in January as they continue to be out of the PL’s top four.

However this story is quite telling as to how much money, or lack thereof, Wenger has to work with over the next few weeks.
