Barcelona 3-1 Atletico Madrid

With reports that manager Luis Enrique’s job could be in jeopardy, his side delivered a brilliant performance in a 3-1 win over Atletico Madrid. Barcelona enjoyed nearly 70% possession as the trio of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi all tallied for the Catalans.

With the win, Barcelona climb three points ahead of Atletico for second place in La Liga, but are still a point behind Real Madrid.

Almeria 0-2 Sevilla

Sevilla climbs back into the top four with a clean sheet away from home against Almeria. Vicente Iborre and Coke both scored within five minutes to earn three points for the visitors, who will look to stay up on the table in hopes of a Champions League berth.

Both goals came from the penalty spot as Real Sociedad dropped valuable points to a struggling Granada side. Carlos Vela put the visitors ahead from the spot in the 36th minute, only to see Rico Castro even the score with a penalty of his own in the 79th. David Moye’s Sociedad side will be disappointed with the draw as Granada continues their stay at the bottom of La Liga.

Athletic 1-2 Elche

Elche climbed off the bottom of the table with only their third win of the season at Athletic. Victor Rodriguez and Faycal Fajr scored on either side of halftime for Elche who now sit second-to-last in La Liga.
