Monday’s transfer rumor roundup: Sissoko winks at Arsenal, Dzeko to Stoke?

This week in rumors begins with plenty of big name denials, and a number of fresh names linked to new locations.

First, the rejections. Juventus says they aren’t interested in cashing in on French star Paul Pogba, who has been linked to Manchester United and a host of Premier League squads.

Also, Everton boss Roberto Martinez says the club have not had any offers for Samuel Eto’o despite links to Sampdoria, and Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri claims Mario Balotell is “not a player that can arrive at Juventus.”

To moves that actually could happen, Stoke City may want to take Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko on loan. The Stoke Sentinel says the Bosnian forward may be interesting in linking up with countryman Asmir Begovic, and that Aaron Lennon is also a player of interest to Mark Hughes’ Potters.

This one is happening, according to the BBC: Unused Man City defender Matija Nastasic is headed to Schalke on loan. He hasn’t started for the Citizens since August’s Community Shield match, a game City entered with loads of injured players.

And here’s the big one: Newcastle’s best player this season, Moussa Sissoko, has admitted that he’s cool with the Magpies… but loves him some Gunners (from Sky Sports and Telefoot).

“The transfer market is open, so things can happen any day, but I am focused on Newcastle.

“If anything should happen, it will. I hope I’ll leave for a bigger club one day. England is my priority. If Arsene Wenger calls, I’ll have a man-to-man discussion with him and then we’ll see. Arsenal has always been the club of my heart.

“I hope I will improve to win the Champions League one day.”

One other note sees Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse quoted as a target for Swansea City with Wilfried Bony off to Manchester City.
