Jozy Altidore’s career has taken another turn with his recent move to Toronto FC, and shortly after the deal was announced, US Soccer revealed that the former Sunderland forward would also feature in the USMNT’s roster now 29-man roster.
FC Dallas center back Matt Hedges was also added to the list of players, while Seattle Sounders defender Brad Evans was released due to tendonitis in his left knee, says the press release.
The training camp started on Jan. 12 and will run until Feb.8, when the United States plays Panama in a friendly at the LA Galaxy’s home– the StubHub Center in Carson, Ca. Prior to that match, Klinsmann will watch his side face Chile on Jan. 28 at the Rancagua-based Estadio El Teniente.
Altidore last appeared for the national team in November 2014, after his playing time diminished in the 2014 World Cup as he dealt with a hamstring injury.
