Jose Mourinho could be set to raid one of his old clubs, as Real Madrid’s versatile defender Alvaro Arbeloa is being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. Arbeloa, 32, has Premier League experience after playing for Liverpool and according to numerous reports the full back seems to be keen on linking up with his old boss Mourinho at Chelsea. Arbeloa would add plenty of experience to Chelsea’s defense with a busy schedule coming up as they challenge for the League Cup, FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League trophies. Not the most glamorous signing, but could be a very astute buy for the Blues.

Sticking with Chelsea, their winger Mohammed Salah is at the center of a three-club tussle. The Egyptian winger, 22, has been on the outside looking in this season at Stamford Bridge and a trio of Serie A clubs are ready to rescue the former FC Basel star from the bench. Roma, Napoli and Inter Milan are all interested in taking Salah to Italy, plus Turkish giants Besiktas are also in the running according to the Daily Mirror.

Tottenham Hotspur are lining up an audacious $60 million bid for Colombian striker Jackson Martinez. According to the Daily Express, Spurs are trying to offload current strikers Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor to fund the move for Jackson. The 28-year-old FC Porto striker has scored 18 goals in 21 outings for the Portuguese side this season as they are battling for the domestic title as well as easily reaching the last 16 of the Champions League. His power and pace would certainly suit the PL but can Spurs afford him? If they don’t get Soldado and Adebayor off the wage bill then probably not.
