With Wilfried Bony ahead of him in the pecking order, Bafetimbi Gomis struggled to find consistent minutes over the first half of the season for Swansea City.

After Bony left the club for Manchester City, Gomis has started all four matches for Garry Monk’s side.
Now he wants to leave.
In a shocking statement, Gomis has said he is upset with his playing time and has talked with other clubs about a possible move.

I have been approached by clubs. When Bony was here, it was also planned that I should play a certain number of games… that wasn’t the case.
Today, I ask myself many questions. I need time to think. It’s very difficult to accept to spend my time on the bench.
I don’t know what will happen. Me leaving? It is possible.”
It is interesting to see Gomis making this statement now, after finally earning a consistent role in the Swans’ starting lineup. It seems as if the French striker is angered over a deal regarding playing time with manager Garry Monk when Gomis came over from Lyon over the summer.

If Gomis is truly keen for a move away from Liberty Stadium, Garry Monk could be in trouble, needing to fill a huge void up top without the likes of Bony and Gomis.
After being thrashed 5-0 by Chelsea on Saturday, the Swans need to find support at striker whether Gomis leaves or not.
