Cristiano Ronaldo is available on the open market.
Relax, Real Madrid fans, Ronaldo isn’t free to leave the Santiago Bernabeu. But he is single after the Portuguese superstar announced on Tuesday that he has split up from long-time girlfriend Irina Shayk.

Ronaldo, 29, has been dating the Russian model for over five years but after Shayk did not accompany the Real Madrid superstar to the Ballon d’Or ceremony last week in Zurich to collect his second-straight World Player of the Year award, speculation went into overdrive that the celebrity couple were no longer an item.
After plenty of rumors, Ronaldo released the following statement to the AP to confirm his and Shayk’s relationship was over.
“After dating for five years, my relationship with Irina Shayk has come to an end,” Ronaldo said. “We believed it would be best for both of us to take this step now. I wish Irina the greatest happiness.”
Ronaldo has a 4-year-old son, Cristiano Junior, but he never disclosed the mother’s identity. The reason for their break up is believed to be Shayk falling out with members of Ronaldo’s family and the Real star was also reportedly seeing another woman. Plus the fact that the couple lived apart as Ronaldo, obviously, is based in Madrid and Shayk travels the world for her profession, didn’t help matters.
For those interested, Shayk sprung to fame as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, and a lingerie model, while she also made her film debut last year alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in “Hercules.”
We don’t usually give updates on the marital status of soccer superstars here at ProSoccerTalk, but the fact that Ronaldo is now “back on the market” will probably get a lot of people very excited.
Can anybody else see a special season of the “Bachelor: With Cristiano Ronaldo” starting up soon? I’d tune into that.
