Mourinho on loss: “Me and the players must feel ashamed”

Jose Mourinho is not a happy man.

Up two goals to Bradford City, Chelsea was shocked by their third-tier opposition, conceding four times at Stamford Bridge and being eliminated from the FA Cup.

It was a crazy day around the FA Cup, as all top-three Premier League teams lost at home.

Despite the events around England, Mourinho was bitterly upset with his teams performance, and did not hold back in his post-game presser.

I repeat a word I used before this match – It’s a disgrace for a big team to lose to a small team from a lower league.

Me and the players must feel ashamed. Frustration is not the right word, embarrassed would be more appropriate.”

Mourinho is referring to the comments he made before the match, stating a loss to Bradford City would be a “disgrace” for the club. Some would say disgrace is a strong word to use, but Mourinho was completely serious in his use of the word.

While the boss was clearly upset, Mourinho showed a touch of class when he entered the Bradford dressing room and congratulated every player on their performance.

Although Mourinho would never admit it, this loss could benefit Chelsea moving forward. With one less competition, the Blues can focus on the Premier League and Champions League, two more important and more lucrative titles.
