Eto’o has three goals in 14 Premier League appearances this season with the Toffees after netting nine in 21 matches with Chelsea last season. That’s a bit off his hey day with Barcelona and Inter Milan, when he scored 20 or more goals four times in seven seasons.
Sampdoria, for what it’s worth, is led by 23-year-old Italian striker Manolo Gabbiadini (7 goals) and 28-year-old Brazilian vet Citadin Eder (6).
Sampdoria drew Palermo 1-1 on Sunday.
