The man who has been involved in more goals than any player this season in the Premier League may be missing for Arsenal this weekend.

Alexis Sanchez is struggling with a hamstring injury, as the 26-year-old Chilean attacker will be a last-minute decision for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

Ahead of Arsenal’s match against Aston Villa on Sunday (Watch live on NBCSN, 8:30 a.m. ET and online via Live Extra) Wenger gave the following update on his squad and admitted Sanchez is struggling:
“The squad will be exactly the same as last Sunday. The only uncertainty we have is Alexis Sanchez who has a hamstring concern, and that will be decided on Saturday,” Sanchez said. “He might be out for Sunday. The only [other] difference is that Gabriel is available and we’ll check him how he is physically but he should be alright to be available. Welbeck is very close. He is really, really, really nearly there. He will be available for the Tottenham game.”
Sanchez has been in sensational form for the Gunners this season after his $45 million transfer from Barcelona over the summer.
He has scored 18 goals in 32 games for Arsenal and has been the focal point of their attack. With Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil returning from injury over the past few weeks and Danny Welbeck set to return to action next week, maybe Wenger will not gamble with Sanchez this weekend and instead let him full recover before the huge north London derby against Spurs next Saturday.
The Gunners are currently in fifth spot, one point off the top four but just two points ahead of sixth-placed Tottenham.
