Liverpool are hoping to beat a host of rivals to sign Ruben Neves from FC Porto. The Daily Express claims that the Reds are ready to bid for the 17-year-old midfielder who has been described as the “new Sergio Busquets” by teammates, fans and pundits.
Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be in the hunt for the Portuguese youngster who is expected to make his debut for the full national team in the coming months. However Neves could cost up to $45 million which is an awful lot for a 17-year-old but would fit into Liverpool’s long-term plan of buying and developing young talent at Anfield.

Jack Cork could be on the move from Southampton as the BBC claim that the English midfielder is discussing a deal with Swansea City. Cork, 25, is contracted to Saints until the end of the season but has found appearances hard to come by this season at St Mary’s after injury. He has been at Southampton since 2011 but the England U-21 international could sign for Swansea on a cut-price deal in the coming days.
Swansea are also said to be in for Blackburn Rovers striker Rudy Gestede. The Daily Mail reports that the Swans are lining up a $10 million bid for Gestede who has been strongly linked with a move to Crystal Palace. Gestede has scored 13 goals in 26 appearances for Rovers this season and Garry Monk believes he would be a great replacement for Wilfried Bony who left earlier this month for January.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor is reportedly in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a loan move. Adebayor, 30, has been struggling for appearances at Spurs this year and has scored just two goals in 15 appearances at White Hart Lane since Mauricio Pochettino arrived as manager. The Daily Telegraph reports that PSG want Adebayor on for the rest of the season to boost their chances of winning Ligue 1 and the former Arsenal and Manchester City forward previously played in France for AS Monaco.
