After a hard-fought draw at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Manchester City on Saturday, the title race is still incredibly tight.

Chelsea have the edge with a five-point gap at the summit, but we learned plenty about Mourinho’s men without their two main men, Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa.

Here’s how the players from both teams rated, with influential names missing on both sides and the stand-in’s

Chelsea

Thibaut Courtois – 5 – Flapped badly in the buildup to City’s goal. Unfortunate mistake.

Branislav Ivanovic – 6 – Solid as ever. Didn’t get forward as much as usual.

John Terry – 5 – Caught over the top in the first half for pace a few times. Could have reacted quicker on Silva’s goal and looked a little shaky.

Kurt Zouma – 6 – Great challenge on Aguero in the first half and look ready for the big occasion.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 4 – Got sucked in and caught out of position for City’s opening goal. Unusually nervy.

Nemanja Matic – 6 – Clipped in a lovely ball to Hazard for Chelsea’s opener, and kept trying to probe.

Ramires – 5 – Plenty of industry but not enough quality. His passing let him down as the Blues missed Fabregas.

Willian – 5 – Didn’t threaten City’s backline. A few smart touches here and there.

Oscar – 5 – See above. Failed to influence the game.

Eden Hazard – 6 – Touch of class to set up Remy for Chelsea’s opener. Had plenty of attention from City’s backline. Quiet by his standards.

Loic Remy – 6 – Calm finish to justify his start in place of the suspended Costa. Hardly touched the ball apart form that.

Subs

Didier Drogba – 5 – Got 10 minutes but had no service. Held the ball up well.

Gary Cahill – 5 – Sat in midfield but a few costly giveaways. Low on confidence.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 5 – Chelsea academy product made PL debut, for a few seconds.

Milner had a great game for City.

MANCHESTER CITY

Joe Hart – 6 – A few dodgy kicks but solid display apart from that. Could do nothing on Chelsea’s goal.

Bacary Sagna – 7 – Preferred to Zabaleta at right back and didn’t let Pellegrini down. Not an offensive threat but shut Hazard down.

Vincent Kompany – 5 – Could have cleared the ball for Remy’s goal and a few costly slips showed he’s still struggling to be fully fit.

Martin Demichelis – 6 – Decent display from the Argentine who wasn’t tested by Remy.

Gael Clichy – 6 – Steady. Locked down Willian and made some good runs forward.

Fernando – 6 – Broke up the play well and plenty of intricate passing.

Fernandinho – 6 – A few efforts on goal and got better as the game went on. Stepped up in Toure’s absence.

James Milner – 7 – You know what you’re going to get with the Englishman. So important and popped a great ball across goal late on that was begging to be finished off.

Jesus Navas – 7 – Great cross for the first goal. Got the sense that Apzilicueta was stared stiff of his pace. Superb.

David Silva – 7 – Very important touch to tap home the first goal. Found it hard to get on the ball at times.

Sergio Aguero – 7 – Set up City’s opener, dragged an effort wide early on and looked back to his lively best.

Subs

Frank Lampard – 5- Only got 15 minutes, but a few misplaced passes and that was it.

Edin Dzeko – 5 – Hardly had any time to make an impact.

Stevan Jovetic – 5 – Looked lively in just a few minutes on the pitch.
