Newcastle scored three times against Hull City, and two of those goals end up on our list. Remy Cabella scored his first goal as a Magpie, a fine individual effort as the Frenchman intercepted a pass, took a touch and buried a shot into the side netting. Not to be outdone, Sammy Ameobi tallied from long range with a bending strike that beat Allan McGregor.

Theo Walcott earned his first league start in nearly 13 months for Arsenal after a serious knee injury, and the winger joined the party at the Emirates, scoring on his return in a 5-0 rout against Aston Villa. For Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham, Christian Eriksen found his way onto the list with yet another superb free kick.

But it was Jonjo Shelvey’s strike from distance that was named goal of the week, as the big Englishman sent a laser into the back of the net to steal a win for Swansea City.
