Fresh off a tough showing in the USMNT’s 3-2 loss to Chile last week, Bobby Wood will look to break out of his slump at a new club.
The 22-year-old Hawaiian is leaving 2. Bundesliga side 1860 Munich for a lateral loan move to league rivals Erzgebirge Aue In order to complete the move, he’s left the USMNT camp where he’s been preparing for Sunday’s match against Panama.
There is no word on whether he’ll return, or stay with his new club. Erzgebirge is in last place in 2. Bundesliga, three slots behind Wood’s parent club.
Wood hasn’t scored in 7 apperances for 1860 this season, nor in his 4 matches for the USMNT. He failed to score in 23 matches last season after a breakout campaign in 2012-13 where he scored thrice for the First Team and 8 times for 1860 Munich II.
