The last time Belgium was this involved with “U-S-A” chants, their Red Devils eliminated the Yanks from the 2014 World Cup.
Longtime Anderlecht midfielder Sacha Kljestan celebrated his final match in the Jupiler League with a proper sending off, greeting the home crowd in a prematch reception — with “U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!” chants before and after his words — and playing 17 minutes in a 0-0 draw.
Kljestan signed a deal to join the New York Red Bulls last week and will return to Major League Soccer, where he was once in the MLS Best XI.
