Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo “worth at least $450 million” in current transfer market

We get it. Two-time World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo is pretty darn good at soccer.

However his agent Jorge Mendes wants to give us a little reminder of just how good Ronaldo is and has claimed his client is worth over $450 million if Real Madrid were to cash in on the Portuguese superstar right here, right now.

Ronaldo, 29, has consistently been linked with a move back to his former club Manchester United but given this valuation and his incredible importance to Real, it seems like a deal is many years away and Madrid are also highly unlikely to sell their prized possession.

Speaking to the BBC, Mendes talked about his role as an agent and described Ronaldo as the “best athlete in the world” while using many other superlatives to describe the Portuguese national team captain.

“Cristano Ronaldo? One billion. His buyout clause one billion, so it is one billion,” Mendes said. “If, for any reason, the club decide to sell him tomorrow for 300 million, someone will pay.”

Okay, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, the ball is in your court…

Well, that’s if UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules were completely abolished. Like we said at the start, we get it. Ronaldo is hugely talented and very expensive. But can any club actually afford to buy him?
