Louis van Gaal has won a title in his first season in charge of Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

He doesn’t want to buck that trend in his first season with Manchester United and the Dutchman is quietly confident he can bring a trophy to Old Trafford this season.

Van Gaal, 63, has guided his United side into the last 16 of the FA Cup after they beat fourth-tier Cambridge United 3-0 in an FA Cup replay on Tuesday.

Van Gaal’s men now face League One side Preston North End in the fifth-round and although the Dutchman doesn’t like to have a flutter, he handed out a gambling tip to all you punters out there…

“I am not a casino man. I am not allowed to bet. But I give you a tip,” van Gaal said. “We have a real chance now. We are the highest qualified team in the FA Cup so our status is the highest club. But Arsenal is still in the cup and also a very high competitor. Liverpool is also there and will fight (against Bolton) tomorrow.”

United and are Arsenal are the bookmakers favorites to lift the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium on May 30, with Liverpool still having to negotiate a tricky replay at Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday as they hope to give Steven Gerrard’s Anfield career a storybook ending.

So, are you going to take van Gaal’s advice and bet on him delivering a first trophy to Old Trafford since May 2013 and a first FA Cup since 2004?
