Swansea City sees the return of Ki Sung-Yeung and the debut of new signing Jack Cork as they get a boost at home against Sunderland, live online at 10am ET on NBC Sports Live Extra.
The Swans also have Jefferson Montero back after a hamstring injury, on the bench and a great late-game option for Garry Monk, but Leon Britton can’t make his return after missing out last week with a virus.
It’s been a busy week for Sunderland physios, and it shows in their matchday squad. Emmanuel Giaccherini can only make the bench after a good showing midweek in the FA Cup win over Fulham. He’s joined by Adam Johnson on the bench after a thumb injury, while Jack Rodwell, Connor Wickham, Billy Jones, and Will Buckley all miss out.
This has forced manager Gus Poyet into a selection dilemma, but the main man remains up front. January signing Jermain Defoe has already scored for Sunderland in just two matches, and will look for help from a very crowded Black Cats midfield on the road.
Both these teams are coming off wins in the league, with Swansea pushed up to ninth in the table, 10 points ahead of Sunderland who sit just four points above the drop.
