Landon Donovan retired on a high note after winning the the MLS Cup with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Since taking home the trophy in early December, Donovan has kept himself busy, even without the daily demands of playing professional soccer.
The United States’ all-time leading goal scorer took to Facebook today to give his fans an update on his retirement so far, including some nice personal news as Donovan has become engaged in the past few weeks.
From Landon Donovan’s Facebook page:
Retirement has been everything I could have hoped for. I’ve enjoyed trips to Peru and Ecuador to visit orphanages, Bandon Dunes Golf Course in Oregon, India and the Maldives. There are many more trips to come and I can’t wait! I’ve also had more time with my family and close friends over the last 2 months than I had in the previous 16 years combined.
Lastly, and most importantly, I recently got engaged to the love of my life, Hannah. I have never been this happy and I’m excited for our future together!”

It’s good to see Donovan is enjoying his time with friends and family, one of the key reasons he called it quits after a 15-year professional career.
Even though we’re all happy for Landon, one can’t help but imagine a possible Donovan-Gerrard-Keane trio in the Galaxy attack next season…
