As far as post match press conferences, the one held by Newcastle United’s John Carver after his side drew 1-1 at Crystal Palace had a bit of everything.
For the tactician, Carver laid out his formation and substitution choice in dealing with former boss Alan Pardew and his knowledge of the Magpies’ personnel. For the newshound, there was his take on Fabricio Coloccini getting hit in the face with a coin thrown by a Selhurst Park attendee.
It’s worth a watch.

On playing against Pardew:
“When somebody knows your team inside out, it’s sometimes very difficult. I was expecting him to do something different and then he changed it… He had quite a few strikers on at the end.”
“He gets blatantly hit in the eye. Very, very lucky. It’s an inch away from his eyeball. Hopefully something will be done because there’s no place.”
