Manchester Untied manager Louis van Gaal really wants to win this year’s FA Cup. Like, he really, really wants to win it, and he’s really pleased with his team’s recent performances in the competition, despite facing lower-division sides in all three rounds.

Man United dispatched League 1’s Yeovil Town in the third round, knocked out League 2 side Cambridge United in a fourth-round replay and handled League 1’s Preston North End on Monday. Despite their opponents’ third- and fourth-division statuses, Van Gaal remains impressed by his team and insists each game is a very good victory.

Every game in the FA Cup is difficult to win, because every team is giving everything. You have seen it also in this round, how many better situated teams have lost.

I have said, when you play against a lower team, then the chance to win is always bigger, but all the circumstances are against you.

Van Gaal is quick to credit his players for reaching the quarterfinals, where they have a date with Arsenal at Old Trafford, but also to tip his cap to the “unbelievable” fans.

I have to give all the credit to the players. They have done everything, and the spirit in the team is unbelievable, like the spirit of the fans.
