Everton will look to build on their midweek demolition of Young Boys as they hope to climb back towards the Premier League’s top 10.
The Toffees host basement dwellers Leicester City at Goodison Park live on NBCSN at 9:05am ET or live online at NBC Sports Live Extra.
For all their struggles, Everton hasn’t been beaten in league play since New Years Day, although many draws dot the landscape, probably too many for Roberto Martinez’s liking. Their opponents are firmly entrenched at the bottom of the table, and need a win somewhere – anywhere – to pull them closer to safety. Even a win today wouldn’t get the Foxes off the table’s bottom spot, but would pull them three points closer to pulling out of the drop zone.
Everton is without Gareth Barry who serves a suspension for his red card last weekend. They do get a pair back with Phil Jagielka and Aaron Lennon both returning to action following injuries, and both slide back into the starting lineup.
For Leicester City, their injured duo of Chris Wood and Kasper Schmeichel both remain sidelined, but will be back soon after returning to training. Mark Schwarzer continues to deputize in goal, although the 42-year-old Aussie’s days appear to be numbered with age seeming to contribute to a dip in his play.
