A New York Daily News report says New York City FC has its first loanee from Manchester City, as England U-20 defender Shay Facey has agreed to a six-month loan with the new MLS club.
Facey, 20, was the captain of Man City’s highly-touted Elite Development Squad and had been on trial with NYCFC since early January.

A 5-foot-10 center back, Fahey is the latest in a long line of City Football Group-linked players to move between clubs. Jeb Brovsky joined Stromsgodset last season, Frank Lampard went on loan to NYCFC and David Villa spent time with Melbourne City FC.
On Facey, from MCFC.com:
He joined the first-team on their pre-season tour of South Africa and made his debut against SuperSport United in Johannesburg in July.
From there, Shay seemed to improve every week, striking up one of the league’s stingiest centre-back partnerships with Jason Denayer as City advanced to the latter stages of four competitions.
This is probably more of what most expected from the NYCFC-Man City relationship. We’ll see if the jump from the U-21 Premier League to Major League Soccer is a big one for Facey.
