Tim Sherwood’s putting up a brave face in the middle of his first relegation fight as manager.
Unlucky to not score through a strong Christian Benteke in the first half, Aston Villa fell to Papiss Cisse and Newcastle United in a 1-0 loss at St. James Park on Saturday.

Sherwood’s club remains in the relegation zone, and the Englishman is looking for his first Premier League win as Villans manager.
“I saw signs today. This team is not ready to give up. There is plenty of time left.
“People talk about ‘teams are too good to go down.’ It’s all nonsense. You have to prove it on the pitch. You have to go out there and do it.
“I am ramping up the pressure on them. I am telling them ‘we can’t drop any more points.’ Let’s take it upon ourselves.
“Managers try and take the pressure off. I think Paul Lambert’s probably been trying to do that to the guys all season. I’m going to try the other way. I’m going to put it on them.”
Big words from Sherwood. Can he do the trick, or will his loud ways alienate a club hoping to avoid its first ever trip into the Championship?
