WATCH: Michael Bradley, Sebastian Giovinco combine for Jozy Altidore’s first Toronto FC goal

Jozy Altidore is on the scoresheet for Toronto FC (below GIF).

OK, so it’s still only preseason against Costa Rica’s U-23 national team, and Altidore has a lot of goals to score this year — and the next few years — to justify his reported $30-million contract, but he has to start somewhere, right? And what better time to get off the mark for TFC than in the team’s final preseason game?

Michael Bradley -> Sebastian Giovinco -> Altidore. That’s exactly how the TFC brass drew it up when they pledged a combined $18 million per year to the Designated Player trio. If only Altidore had ever seen service like that at Sunderland, maybe he wouldn’t be back in MLS.

What’s better in the above goal? Altidore’s finish? Giovinco’s close-control, zig-zag run into the penalty area and vision to pick out the unorthodox cross?
