One of the greatest strikers of this generation, Thierry Henry knows a bit about exploiting defenses.
What does he know about exploiting Chelsea’s defense?
It’s hard to do.
Following Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Tottenham in the Capital One Cup final, Henry said that despite all the big names such as Costa, Hazard and Fabregas, the Blues’ dominance starts on defense.

He (Mourinho) came to do a job with his team and they did it.
They don’t defend because they have to – they love and enjoy to defend. They live to defend, you can see that every time, that’s why most of the time they play a final they end up winning it.”
Mourinho’s starting lineup surprised many, as Gary Cahill slotted alongside John Terry in the center of defense while the young Kurt Zouma was handed a start in midfield with Ramires. Zouma was forced into the role due to the suspension of Nemanja Matic.
The plan worked, as Mourinho’s men stayed tight defensively and Tottenham failed to create many clear-cut chances on net. The manager praised his team, saying the players were strategically “fantastic”.
Arguably the best manager in the world right now, Mourinho said he has a specific way he tackles finals of competitions, and with the number of trophies he’s won, he clearly has it figured out. Chelsea avenged a shocking 5-3 loss to Tottenham in January, shutting out Spurs and earning their first piece of silverware on the quest for the treble.
