Matt Phillips, stop it. Just stop it.
With Queens Park Rangers trailing 3-0 late on, Phillips picked up the ball just inside Crystal Palace’s half and the QPR winger took two touches forward before hammering an unstoppable effort into the top corner from 45-yards out.
Palace’s goalkeeper Julian Speroni was helpless, as the ball clipped the underside of the bar and nestled into the top corner.
In the end this goal was no more than a consolation for QPR in another damaging defeat, but Phillips’ strike is surley the leading contender so far for Goal of the Season in the Premier League.
