Everton looks to finally translate its solid European form into Premier League success as they host a rejuvinated Newcastle at Goodison Park live online at 12:00pm ET on NBC Sports Live Extra.
The Toffees sit on their lowest Premier League point total ever at this stage in the season, and are still worried about the drop despite not being a favorite to go down. But they’ve been able to perform abroad, and return home after yet another win in European play midweek.
Romelu Lukaku starts up front after firing his team past Dynamo Kiev just days ago, and will be joined by Leighton Baines and Leon Osman in the lineup despite the pair struggling with injury problems. Missing out is Gareth Barry due to suspension, while John Stones can only make the bench due to his struggles with an illness.
For Newcastle, owners of eight points from their last six, they will be without Papiss Cisse as he serves the first of his seven-game ban for spitting. Up front in his place is Emmanuel Riviere who starts for the third place game. Remy Cabella returns from injury and makes the bench, while Jack Colback slides back into the starting lineup. The Magpies fell to Manchester United last time out by a goal, but put in a good shift and could give Everton troubles.
