An enormous Premier League comes our way as Manchester United welcomes Tottenham to Old Trafford with both sides eying a top four spot, live on NBCSN at 12 noon ET or live online at NBC Sports Live Extra.
A win for Spurs would take them above their opponents and into a Champions League position, while a home win would send the Red Devils five points clear at the top, a massive margin given their struggles this season. A draw is certainly a possible result but it wouldn’t exactly help either side make a statement.
Angel Di Maria will be a miss for Manchester United, and while that’s always a big deal, it could potentially be a positive for the Red Devils in the long term given the Argentinian’s poor recent form. Louis van Gaal has again selected Wayne Rooney up top in the striker position with James Wilson and Falcao both on the bench. He has also crowded the midfield with five in the center of the pitch, anchored by Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini. Marcos Rojo and Robin van Persie are out injured.
On the other end Spurs have a fully fit squad, and the in-form Harry Kane has been selected alone up top with Emmanuel Adebayor on the bench. Danny Rose returns to the starting lineup as Ben Davies heads to the bench to make way.
