Chelsea will look to cement the ultimate accomplishment in a Premier League season by finishing the year at the top of the standings.
Currently, the Blues are in first place in the PL table–a game behind and six points ahead of incumbent champion Manchester City–and the Fulham-based team will travel to encounter Hull City this weekend with the intention of progressing their position further.
With slightly more than 2 months left in the season, manager Jose Mourinho, who is certainly familiar with governing the success of a top soccer club, wishes to fix the attention of his side on achieving the best results.
“We are in front… The advantage is significant, (but we still have) a long way to go,” he said. “We fight against that word you use some many times: complacency. And I think the best way to fight against that is to know there’s a long way to go.”
Mourinho noted that winning the crown would be hugely significant for individual players and the squad as a whole.
“You have so many fantastic players with fantastic careers in the Premier League, and they never won the Premier League. That’s part of the the game, and that’s part of the difficulty that you have to win. I repeat again, in the last nine years Chelsea was champion once.”
