Stoke City and USMNT defender Geoff Cameron spoke with the NBC Soccer crew–Rebecca Lowe, Robbie Earle and Robbie Mustoe–to discuss various topics around the Premier League.
At 10th place in the league table, Stoke is coming off their second-straight loss, a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, but could still manage a record-breaking season under manager Mark Hughes.
“We had a meeting last week. The gaffer brought us all in and said we already reached the goal of staying out of the relegation zone..We can’t get complacent and obviously last weekend wasn’t a great result for us…We want to challenge the top seven,” Cameron said.
Cameron also praised the energy Alan Pardew has brought to Palace, who snagged three points again with their win over the Potters.
“When a new coach comes in, I think the team rallies around the coach; everybody gets pumped up and excited,” he said.
The former Houston Dynamo standout picked Manchester United as favorites to break the top four over Liverpool.
“For me, I’d have to go with Man U…I think Man United has slowly started to figure out their formation and figure out the guys they’re clicking with.”
