Chelsea can restore their six-point lead at the top of the table should they take care of business today, but as their current form shows, nothing is a given anymore for the Blues.
They’ll have to take care of business away from home at the KC Stadium, live on NBCSN at 12:00 ET or live online at NBC Sports Live Extra.
The Tigers haven’t won in over a month, instead earning draws in matches they will have hoped to win against fellow relegation candidates Leicester City and Sunderland. This has left Steve Bruce’s side desperate, and Chelsea has fallen to desperate sides before this season.
The Blues are near full strength, with only the absence of John Obi Mikel marring their teamsheet. The enigmatic Diego Costa starts up front, with an interestingly packed midfield of Nemanja Matic and Ramires backing up Cesc Fabregas in the middle of the pitch. Filipe Luis also deputizes for Cesar Azpilicueta, giving the usual first choice full-back a rest.
For Steve Bruce, they’re much more banged up. Tom Huddlestone is suspended, and Mohamed Diame, Nikica Jelavic, and James Chester are still out with injury. Dame N’Doye is the starting striker for Hull City, with three goals in his six appearances for Hull this season, but the club still currently sits just three points above the drop.
