With only eight games to go until the end of the 2014-15 Premier League season, (deep sigh) now seems like a good time to start thinking about our Team, Player and Coach of the Season picks here at ProSoccerTalk.

So that’s exactly what we’ve been doing, as below each writer at PST selects their early pick for the Player of the Season.

Let’s get to it.

Joe Prince-Wright

Eden Hazard. His combination of skill, pace and vision is unrivaled in the PL. Ask most PL defenders who the toughest player to  mark is and most will tell you Hazard without a second of hesitation. He brings 100 percent every week and Mourinho has molded him into a ruthless attacker who doesn’t mind defending. The Belgian wizard has 16 goals and eight assists this season and is the creative hub of the likely PL champs. And, he’s still only 24.

Nick Mendola

Eden Hazard. For me, it’s not even close. He’s a wizard in playmaking, more than adequate in finishing, and even manages to mark and defend in a meaningful way given his position. What I wouldn’t give for him to be a member of the USMNT.

Kyle Bonn

Eden Hazard. He’s a wizard. A magical ankle-breaking sorcerer who melts opponent’s hearts. Not even close. Hazard displays his talent on a weekly basis and never takes a week off. What a player.

Kyle Lynch

David Silva. Manchester City may not win the title, but Silva has had himself an award-winning season. The small Spaniard was often the best player on the pitch, using his vision and creativity to lead the City midfield. Usually known for his passing, Silva has already set a career high with 11 goals this year as well.

Andy Edwards

Harry Kane. If Kane and Costa finish level on goals and Kane reaches that number having not started a single league game before Nov. 9 (game No. 9), he’s had the more impressive season.

Duncan Day

Diego Costa. He’s a dynamic scorer and it showed this year, as he had no trouble transitioning from his La Liga dominance.
