With only eight games to go until the end of the 2014-15 Premier League season, (deep sigh) now seems like a good time to start thinking about our Team, Player and Coach of the Season picks here at ProSoccerTalk.

So that’s exactly what we’ve been doing, as below each writer at PST selects their early pick for the Young Player of the Season (players under 23 at the start of the season.)

Let’s get to it.

Joe Prince-Wright

Harry Kane. The Hurricane has emerged as a hero at White Hart Lane and will finish with 30-plus goals in his first-full season as a PL regular, plus his hold-up play and vision make him more than a target-man. The 21-year-old has the world at his feet and Spurs should build their side around him. Easy pick this one.

Nick Mendola

Eden Hazard. A wizard in playmaking, more than adequate in finishing, and even manages to mark and defend in a meaningful way. If you’re looking for variety, we can go with Harry Kane because he’s big and powerful and English, and I doubt the media will go for anything less than the Hurricane.

Kyle Bonn

Harry Kane. I’m a firm believer that if you win Player of the Season you shouldn’t be eligible for this award. Mix it up. Recognize those who deserve to be recognized. Hazard is eligible, but it would be silly not to recognize the Hurri-Kane. His goalscoring tally isn’t a fluke.

Kyle Lynch

Harry Kane. Quite an easy pick here as the 21-year-old is one of the league’s leading goal scorers. After starting the season as a relatively unknown striker on the Tottenham bench, Kane emerged as one of the deadliest scorers in the league, including both of Spurs’ goals in their 2-1 north London derby win over Arsenal.

Andy Edwards

Harry Kane. If he’s the PotY, it’s not even close for Young Player of the Year. Where would Spurs be this season without this man? That’s a question no Spurs fan wants to think about.

Duncan Day

Harry Kane. He’s been the breakout young gun in the PL, catching everyone’s attention with stretches of goalscoring form.
