Andre-Pierre Gignac opened the scoring for Marseille in the 30th minute with a powerful header, only to be cancelled out by a brilliant piece of individual skill from PSG’s Blaise Matuidi.

Matuidi controlled the ball at the top of the box, cut to his weaker right foot, and curled home a beautiful shot to the far post.

Gignac added his second of the half just before the break, but PSG came out firing in the second 45.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic slipped while hitting a free kick, but the mis-hit ball found his teammate Marquinhos who easily tapped home to knot the score at two in the 49th minute.

Just two minutes later, Javier Pastore swung in a cross searching for Zlatan, only to have Marseille defender Jeremy Morel deflect the cross into his own net to give PSG a 3-2 lead.

An emotional and fiery match, Marseille fans littered the pitch with paper and trash towards the end of the match, as Andre Ayew was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in the 96th minute. Andre-Pierre Gignac, who had been subbed out in the second half, also received a yellow card for confronting the referee after the match.
