Arsene Wenger says his Arsenal side will be fully prepared for a tough battle when they step on the field at Turf Moor this Saturday to face Burnley (Watch live on NBC and onlive via Live Extra, 12:30 pm ET). Wenger says not only are Burnley a very physical team, but they’re very good at home.
Burnley most recently knocked off then-title challengers Manchester City at home on March 14, effectively ending City’s title chase. Speaking in his weekly press conference (above video) ahead of Saturday’s showdown, Wenger was full of praise for Sean Dyche’s side as the Clarets aim to avoid relegation.
“Burnely is a tough test for everybody. You shouldn’t look at the table, because they started slowly, but recently they have played very well against all the big teams in the league.
“They are quite efficient at home, because they have made 18 points out of (their) 26 points at home. Therefore, we have to make sure we put forth the expected performance on the commitment, the focus and the quality of our game.”
Arsenal defeated Burnley in their only other meeting this season, 3-0, on Nov. 1. Alexis Sanchez scored twice that day and Calum Chambers added the other Gunners goal.
