Jonjo Shelvey’s late PK earned the hosts a point, as Swansea City overcame a first-half deficit to draw Everton 1-1 at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
Aaron Lennon scored for Everton, which pulls 12 points clear of the drop zone.
Swansea stays 8th, with 47 points on the season.

Bafetimbi Gomis and Jonjo Shelvey started the game in lively form, and the first real chance of the match came from Gomis. The French striker was denied by a flying Tim Howard to keep it scoreless in the 14th minute.
But Gomis picked up a hamstring ailment shortly thereafter, and was subbed off for Marvin Emnes. Everton’s Steven Pienaar came on for an injured Leon Osman in the 28th minute.
Gylfi Sigurdsson was also a threat for Swansea early, while Ross Barkley played some incisive balls for the Toffees.
Shelvey put a ball in after a whistled foul against Routledge on Leighton Baines, putting the home crowd into a bit of a faulty celebration.
Lennon, however, got the scoring started when he first-timed a Barkley cross past Fabianski off a cross-18 pass in the 41st minute.

A diving Gareth Barry nearly made it 2-0 as the second half neared 55 minutes, and the Toffees were looking much better.
Emnes put together a fine dribble near the edge of the 60th minute, but his low shot bounded wide of Howard’s right post.
Swans finally beat the USMNT keeper with a shot from the spot. Seamus Coleman’s hand was the culprit, and Shelvey’s foot provided the finish.

Ashley Williams came close to a late red card for a high challenge on James McCarthy, but escaped with a yellow.
Howard touched a late Sigurdsson free kick over the bar, granted a corner kick for Swans. They would not convert the chance.
