Olivier Giroud is currently the deadliest striker in the Premier League, and his quick strike-rate earns the Frenchman Player of the Month honors for March.

Giroud scored five goals in four league matches in March, as well as scoring for France over the international break and in the Gunners first match of April. That gives the striker 14 league goals in 21 appearances, averaging 0.87 goals per 90 minutes, which is tops in the league above Diego Costa (0.84), Papiss Cisse (0.82) and Harry Kane (0.73). Those rates exclude goals coming from the penalty spot, showing how efficient Giroud has been for Arsenal.
As Giroud has found his form so have Arsenal, as the Gunners have won eight straight in the league and 11 of their last 12. The run has led Arsenal to second place in the league, although still seven points behind Chelsea. Arsene Wenger will need Giroud to continue to perform with an FA Cup semifinal against Reading coming up, as well as massive matches in the league against Chelsea and Manchester United, which could be crucial to Arsenal’s final standing on the table.
