- Christian Benteke has nine goals in his last seven matches for Villa
- David Silva is fit to play for Manchester City
- Yaya Toure has scored in his last three appearances vs. Villa
Aston Villa travel to the Etihad tomorrow hoping to continue to climb up the table, while Manchester City looks to stay locked in the top four.
You can watch the match live on NBC at 12:30 p.m. ET or online via Live Extra.
Villa has taken 10 points from their last six league matches, the same amount of points earned from their previous 15. Tim Sherwood has his boys back on track, and they will be riding high coming off of their 2-1 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup semifinals.

Unfortunately for Sherwood, the Etihad hasn’t treated Villa too well recently. City has won seven straight home matches against the Villans, outscoring the Midlands club 23-2 in the process.
After an anemic start to the season on offense for Aston Villa, the club has finally started scoring goals, with most of the tallies coming from Christian Benteke. The big Belgian has bagged nine goals in his past seven matches, giving a boost of energy and points to the side.

Manchester City got back on track with a win over West Ham last week, but it’s not all blue skies at the Etihad. Yaya Toure dropped some hints that he may be leaving the club this summer, and Manuel Pellegrini’s job security is at an all-time low.
The good news for City is that David Silva will be available after taking an elbow to the face last match. Silva was stretchered off the pitch and his status for the rest of the season was uncertain, but it looks like City’s best performer on the year will be ready to go against Villa.
What they’re saying
City boss Manuel Pellegrini on Yaya Toure: “I assure that Yaya is very happy here. We have a project here that every year we are trying to improve. Maybe you cannot win the title every year but I think that the project of the group is to improve the squad and improve as a group.”
Villa striker Christian Benteke on his recent form: “It is not just about scoring. I am happy to score but I am also happy because now I play how I want to play. I think maybe before [Sherwood] came he saw that we needed to play more straight, more forward, because even if I didn’t score we didn’t shoot a lot at the target, we didn’t score a lot also, so now it’s a bit different.”
Prediction
These two sides have been trending in different directions as of late, but I think City takes all three points. Riding high off their win over Liverpool, tomorrow at the Etihad Aston Villa comes back down to earth. Manchester City 2-0 Aston Villa.
