Premier League Preview: Hull City vs. Arsenal

  • Arsenal holds 14W-4D-3L all-time advantage
  • Hull hasn’t beaten Arsenal at home in 100 years
  • Gunners 8W-1D in last nine versus Tigers
  • Hull City seeks its first win over Arsenal since 2008 when it hosts the Gunners on Monday (Watch live at 2:45 p.m. ET on NBCSN and online via Live Extra).

The Tigers enter the day just one point above Leicester City and Sunderland, tied for 17th place in the Premier League with Newcastle United. Steve Bruce’s boys will need to defend well against the high-flying Gunners, as every point can help save their PL lives.

On the other side line, Arsenal still holds the inside track in the race for second place in the Premier League. The Gunners have played two less matches than Manchester City, and are three points behind the Citizens.

    What they’re saying

Hull City’s Steve Bruce on preparing for Arsenal: “You could see how well everything was going when I first came back and we won three or four games on the bounce but now we’re going through a difficult spell. But it’s great for me to go through this and hopefully we can get out of this stage.”

Arsenal’s Gabriel Paulista on Arsene Wenger““They’ve been on a run of late so we will have to play well. But, we’ve just had two games where our players have performed to their maximum – and just at the right time. We, too, have found a little bit of form. Where that has come from – I’d like to be able to bottle the reason and point to it as being the answer but it isn’t as easy as that.”

Hull will bring the battle, but Arsenal is both well-rested and energized. Perhaps the Tigers can grab a goal and snag a point, but Arsenal has a point to prove by finishing in style. Arsenal 2-0.
