LIVE – UEFA Champions League: Can Real Madrid overturn first leg deficit vs. Juventus?

Reigning European champions Real Madrid face an uphill battle in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal against Juventus on Wednesday.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side suffered a hammer blow to their La Liga title hopes last weekend as they all but handed Barcelona the crown, but all is not lost. Despite trailing 2-1 from the first leg in Turin last week, Real knows a 1-0 win at home will be enough to see them through to the final and set up a clash with their old foes Barca.

But against a Juve side who has already wrapped the Italian title and has the likes of Carlos Tevez, Andrea Pirlo and Gianluigi Buffon using all of their experience, turning this tie around will be difficult for Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. Despite Gareth Bale’s recent struggles, Real can rest easy knowing that they haven’t failed to score at home in their previous 51 games in all competitions.

In team news Real welcome back Karim Benzema up front as the French forward returns from injury, while Juventus bring in Paul Pogba as he returned to action last weekend following two months on the sidelines.

Real Madrid: Casillas; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo; Kroos, Isco, Rodriguez; Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema

Juventus: Buffon, Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini, Evra, Marchisio, Pirlo, Pogba, Vidal, Tevez, Morata
